The Mermaid
I made this Mermaid several years ago, it is still one of my favorite. It's a creature in conflict between two worlds, and who is questioning materialism and the need for things. Maybe the turtle came to be the voice of wisdom.

Show this weekend with the Audubon Wild Arts Festival
This weekend, is my last show for this year. The Audubon Wild Arts Festival will take place at Montgomery Park in Portland, Oregon. This one of my favorite venues as I look forward to be seeing many friend artists and the birds visiting from the sanctuary, I also love supporting this great organization.
The following piece is a Sea Turtle head, when making the piece I focused on the eyes to give it expression.

Baby Hedgehog, Raku Fired Sculpture
I sculpted this little Hedgehog in the
Spring of this year after seeing the cutest hedgehog picture a friend posted on Facebook. Little furry animals are a new subject for me, I enjoy the challenge of sculpting something different. I especially like to try to captivate the spirit in the gaze and the posture, a most rewarding feeling when I find it.
This next photo is of the Hedgehog after I finished sculpting with clay.

Wood Duck
This is a piece I made as a commission, the wood duck is an attractive bird and very striking.
I have seen them come around in our parks roaming around the ponds here in Portland.
